The Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS / Ben Nunez, Sr. Scholarship opportunity is now accepting applications. WEBS is offering up to three $500 scholarships to current or past graduates of Tillamook County High Schools and/or current Tillamook County residents interested in pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math (STEAM) fields with an environmental focus aligned with WEBS mission. Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS works to build a community of environmental stewards around the Netarts Bay watershed and the areas between Cape Meares and Cape Lookout. We are committed to supporting students who want to make a positive impact on our natural resources.
1. Review Eligibility
- Applicants must be a current or past graduate of a Tillamook County high school or current resident of Tillamook County with at least 1 year of residency.
- Scholarships will be awarded to applicants pursuing a degree or certificate from a higher education institution, including a community college, trade school, vocational school, or university.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in, have applied to, or have been accepted into a program in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math (STEAM) field with an environmental focus. Examples of areas of focus include environmental education, oceanography, marine conservation, ocean engineering, estuary health, watershed ecology, biology, fisheries, or any other closely related field. If you are unsure whether your focus area qualifies, please reach out. We are happy to discuss this with you.
- Awardees must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours per quarter (or the semester equivalent).
- Applicants may apply for the scholarship more than once on an annual basis.
- Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS reserves the right to not award scholarships if applicants do not meet the desired criteria.
2. Complete Application Form

The applicaiton form consists of:
- Applicant Contact Information
- Three short questions
- One-page or less essay about your career goals and how they align with the mission of WEBS. (Tips for writing your scholarship essay)
- Contact information for two references
3. Submit Your Application
All applications are due by 11:59pm on April 26, 2026.
