The Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS / Ben Nunez, Sr. Scholarship opportunity is now accepting applications. WEBS is offering up to three $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors or Tillamook County residents interested in pursuing a career in oceanography, marine conservation, estuary health, watershed ecology, or a closely related field. Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS works to build a community of environmental stewards around the Netarts Bay watershed and the areas between Cape Meares and Cape Lookout. We are committed to supporting students who want to make a positive impact on our natural resources.

  • 1. Review Eligibility

    • Students must be a graduate of a Tillamook County high school or a current resident of Tillamook County.

    • Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors, individuals who have earned a diploma from a school district in Tillamook County, current residents that have acquired a GED, or students currently enrolled at the local community college.

    • Awardees are expected to be currently enrolled and/or have applied/been accepted to programs focusing on oceanography, marine conservation, estuary health, watershed ecology, environmental education, or closely related field.

    • Awardees are or will be enrolled at 6 hours or more per quarter or semester equivalent. 

    • Applicants may apply for the scholarship annually.

    • Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS reserves the right to not award scholarships if applicants do not meet desired criteria.
  • 2. Complete Application Form

    The applicaiton form consists of:


    • Applicant Contact Information
    • Three short questions
    • One-page or less essay about your career goals in oceanography, marine conservation, estuary health, watershed ecology, environmental education, or a closely related fields and how your goals would benefit what we do at Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS.
    • Contact information for two references 


  • 3. Submit Your Application

    All applications are due by 11:59pm on April 20, 2025.
